Bom Retiro/ São Paulo
six 60W fluorescent lamps were installed inside a manhole located in the Bom Retiro district (São Paulo’s central region).
the project had as its purpose the inversion of its usual condition of passive receiver, transforming into luminous transmitter a place subjacent to landscape’s movements of alteration imprinted onto the city. intervention and reception were thought of as a continuous space, as a ground for the intertextuality articulating two different realities – the ‘material reality’ of the urbane setting and the ‘sensitive reality’ of the perceived or modified space.
the action remained lit for three days.
